A work by an English artist, who was known for his watercolor landscapes. For this work, the author used both watercolor and graphite, with which he made sketches on paper. Thanks to his architectural education and artistic vision, his studies are examples of somewhat chaotic and artistic, but at the same time, authentic creativity.
In the picture is the famous tourist landmark Orphan Rock, located west of Sydney, Australia. It was formed about 170 million years ago, over time it broke off somewhat and separated from the others, for which it received its name. Over time, hiking trails there were limited, and after 1974 - closed completely due to the threat of destruction.
A work by an English architect and artist, who was known for his watercolor landscapes. The author loved to use watercolor and graphite in his works, for which he received recognition. His paintings were distinguished by both artistic ingenuity and architectural precision, which found expression even in the depiction of landscapes.
The area in this canvas is the coastline of Tasmania with typical mountain slopes on it, as well as the immense element, which is transmitted here quite calmly. To depict all the details of the composition, the author used light and fast, somewhat blurred strokes, which was characteristic of studies. And, in particular, for the style of his works.
Soter Jaxa-Małachowski was a Polish marine painter, a renowned portraitist and master of urban landscapes, who studied in Krakow and Munich. He often traveled along the coast: the Baltic, Adriatic, and Mediterranean seas. And, of course, he worked productively there.
This image is a reproduction of a painting on a postcard that was included in the series of the same name, which was printed in 1927 in Krakow. The original was created with watercolor and gouache on cardboard, thanks to which the author managed to convey both the lightness of the waves and clouds, and the sufficiently detailed figures of people relaxing on the beach. And the color scheme creates a clear impression of a hot, relaxed day.
The work is one of 10 motifs created by the author on this topic, which were the most popular with the public.

Konstanty (Constantine) Tyzenhauz was a Polish-Lithuanian count, naturalist (in particular, ornithologist) and amateur artist who created a series of watercolor works dedicated to natural and architectural monuments. Adolf, his brother, most likely took part in the creation of reproductions.
This watercolor was intended for the "Vilnius Album," which was supposed to depict various prominent places in Lithuania. However, it was never published. For the work, the author also used graphite to depict certain details more clearly. As well as ink, which was used to draw certain lines, for example, on the houses when depicting the central characters.
The color scheme of the work is very restrained: brown, gray, and blue colors create an atmosphere of a quiet evening on the coast of Vilnia. In the background is the old building of the city, which is transmitted quite realistically, and the Gediminas' Tower. So this work is not only culturally, but also historically valuable.

A painting by an unknown artist that conveys the appearance of the Wrocław Town Hall with documentary accuracy. At that time, the city was called "Breslau," which is written at the top of the picture. Both then and now, the Town Hall is located on the central square of the city. An interesting fact is that this building was built for 250 years, and from a commercial building it became an administrative and judicial one.
On the canvas is a bustling day in a big city, conveyed by a large number of details: people, points of trade, establishments. A truly masterful work, because despite the rather light and weightless watercolor, which was often used for smooth transitions, the author managed to create a photographically accurate and quite realistic work. And the color scheme in warm shades hints to us that the season is most likely spring or summer. This can also be understood by the single green trees.

A painting by an unknown author, depicting the Assumption Church in the center of Lviv. Given the inscription "Lemberg" and the rather old-fashioned clothing of the characters, we can assume that the painting was painted in 1772–1918.
The church itself was built back in the 15th century. It is a Gothic-style cathedral that acquired features of the Ukrainian Baroque only during its reconstructions in the 17th-18th centuries. In 1939, the church was also damaged, but was later rebuilt. And it was one of the few religious buildings that did not suffer major destruction during the wars.
The Assumption Church was a place of preservation of Orthodoxy at a time when Lviv was a multicultural city. And it remains so today.

In the center of the composition is Warsaw University, which was built in 1816. Namely, its central building. At that time, it was one of the leading educational institutions in Poland. The architectural style is mostly classicism.
For the work, the artist most likely used watercolor and gouache, which were popular materials in the works of artists of the 19th-20th centuries.
We see a lively day, perhaps an autumn one. The atmosphere of quiet calm is conveyed by the motionless trees and unhurried characters who are going about their business. And the almost cloudless and sunny sky adds special warmth and coziness to the canvas.

In the picture is Wilanów Palace, a former royal residence located in a suburb of Warsaw. It was built in 1677 by John III Sobieski as a summer residence for Polish kings. And its architectural style combines classicist and baroque elements, characteristic of buildings of that time.
The canvas has a sufficiently deep perspective and dynamism, due to the presence of many details: people, a moving carriage, and a cloudy sky, which hints at the weather, which is about to change. However, the work itself radiates coziness, thanks to the use of a warm palette and smooth strokes.
A painting by a Ukrainian artist, based on a photograph by Charlotte Frederickson. Charlotte is a photographer and a fan of depicting animals and natural landscapes, so most of her photos are dedicated to this. Specifically, this one shows a part of the mountain range in the northwestern USA, near Seattle, and is part of the North Cascades National Park. That is, almost on the border with Canada.
Unlike the original photo, the painting conveys this area more softly. The colors are slightly muted, the strokes are light and somewhat arbitrary. This helps the author to convey a warm October day in the mountains. And it gives the impression that no human has ever set foot in these places. There is only untouched nature, majestic mountains, and a quiet wind that rustles the leaves on the numerous trees.
