The painting depicts Vincent van Gogh's room in the Yellow House at 2 Place Lamartine, Arles, France, where he lived and worked. The painting shows simple furnishings — bed, chairs, and wall decorations — in vivid colors. Van Gogh envisioned the house as an artistic retreat, but it was damaged during World War II and later demolished. The original artwork is housed in the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam.
